Ooty, also known as Udhagamandalam, is a hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, in southern India. Surrounded by trees, central Ooty Lake is a huge artificial expanse of water with pleasure boats. On the slopes of nearby Elk Hill, the Rose Garden is home to over 2,000 varieties of roses. The Government Botanical Garden, created in the 19th century, features ferns, orchids and a prehistoric, fossilized tree.

Ooty Lake

Ooty lake is located in Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres. The Boat house situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists

Doddabetta

Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills at 2,637 metres. There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is 9 km from Ooty, on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris District

Government Botanical Gardens, Ooty

The Government Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Udhagamandalam, near Coimbatore(Ooty), Tamil Nadu state, India laid out in 1848. The Gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 55 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout. It is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department.

Rose Garden

The Government Rose Garden (formerly known as the Jayalalithaa Rose Garden, Centerary Rose Park and Nootrandu Roja Poonga). It is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty town in Tamil Nadu, India at an altitude of 2200 meters.

Pykara Boat House

Pykara Boat House is located on Pykara lake. there are several type of boats available for rides.Pykara Boat House, is neat,clean & very well maintained . For 350 rs you can hire a boat,which can accommodate 4 to 6 members. you have the option for hiring power boat also, which costs you 550 rs for 20+ minutes of ride. Boat ride is a thrilling experience, cool breeze,cool environment makes you feel relaxed.

Shooting Spots

There are two places for shooting : 6th Mile, as the name suggests, is located 6 miles from the Ooty city centre and falls on the way to Pykara. Also known as Shooting Spot, it offers scenic views replete with thick green forests and has been featured in many Indian movies.
